In the web tradition of bloggers promoting other bloggers, a comment by the editor of WaxWorks has been posted on Howard Bashman's How Appealing website -

See if you can guess which of these e-mails was mine. It's a commentary on the Estrada nomination and on a recent back and forth between Senators Leahy and Hatch. Just so you understand the context: Leahy made a statement in 1998 that he was opposed to the anonymous holds that Republican Senators were putting on Clinton's nominees and, in the course, stated that he was opposed to filibusters. Republicans, including Senator Hatch are now charging Leahy with hypocrisy.

Leahy supporters have pointed to a speech that Hatch gave to the Federalist Society in 1997 where Hatch said that nominees who did not have a paper trail as a prior judge deserved closer questioning on their views (which is what Democrats have tried to do with Estrada). My e-mail is in response to Howard Bashman, who runs How Appealing, trying to defend Hatch and lambaste Leahy.
