A loyal WaxWorks reader points out yet another case of Fleischer/White House hyprocrisy in connection with the Santorum remarks:
Here, Ari Fleischer claims he can't comment on Santorum because the White House has a policy of not commenting on pending Supreme Court cases.
Yet, Bush apparently ignores this supposed policy when it suits him, as he commented prominently about the pending affirmative action cases.
Yet again, Bush refuses to alienate the right-wing nut jobs. Compassionate conservative, my ass.

Salon has published the full text of Santorum's interview with the Associated Press. The full context doesn't help him, I can tell you that. This is my favorite part:
SANTORUM: Every society in the history of man has upheld the institution of marriage as a bond between a man and a woman. Why? Because society is based on one thing: that society is based on the future of the society. And that's what? Children. Monogamous relationships. In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That's not to pick on homosexuality. It's not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing. And when you destroy that you have a dramatic impact on the quality --
AP: I'm sorry, I didn't think I was going to talk about "man on dog" with a United States senator, it's sort of freaking me out.
Well, isn't this interesting? Apparently the Bush Administration did not expect and is unprepared for the fact that Shiite extremists may have more strength than was thought and may take power in Iraq. Meet the new boss, WORSE than the old boss?
Well, this serves Karl Rove right for trying to politicize September 11 by having the ONLY convention in September -- maybe Bush should just give his acceptance speech at Ground Zero. So, if the Bush people pressure Alabama to change the state law, I guess their arguments in Florida back in 2000 don't mean a lot, huh?

These guys just don't know when to shut up. But it is reassuring to see them show their true colors. Now Santorum says this about homosexual rights:
In an interview with The Associated Press, Santorum criticized homosexuality while discussing a pending Supreme Court case over a Texas sodomy law.
"If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual (gay) sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything," Santorum, R-Pa., said in the interview, published Monday.
BTW, he's a top lieutenant to Bill First.
