Unprecedented?

In the aftermath of the Senate compromise last night (what will this be dubbed, like all the major compromises made by the Senate, like the Missouri Compromise), it's still important to remember the intellectual dishonesty that premised the whole Republican argument that what the Democrats were trying to do here was "unprecented."

Pat Buchanan made a very telling admission on Don Imus' radio show this morning. He told Imus that in 1968 the Nixon campaign told Senator Griffith to block Fortas' nomination to Chief Justice because Nixon wanted to fill that slot.

Hmm. Someone needs to give Pat some talking points!
